If Once You’ve Slept on an Island, by Iris Van Rynbach is an enchanting tale of a girl who enjoys a fun-filled visit with family on an island. Well, we all got to do just that this past weekend when we traveled to Block Island.
Block Island is just off the coast of Rhode Island, accessible by a ferry ride.
There are lovely beaches to explore and a very charming small island town filled with an eclectic mix of boutiques, bookstores and restaurants. Many people cruise around the island on bicycles and scooters, available for rent.
Years ago, our girls discovered their first horseshoe crabs here on the island, as well as countless shells and creatures that are more scarcely found where we live in northern New England.
Relaxing on the beach, investigating a lighthouse, climbing the bluffs, shopping, exploring, and rejuvenating are just what an island vacation offers. And learning while on vacation is fun too!
Spending time together away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life is a great way to learn about and enjoy each other.
Find time to spend with your most important people…island optional.

You can get more information about Block Island, and plan your own island adventure.

It was fun to finally go to Block Island again and see the Bluffs!
Enjoy
